Can Star Downloader really accelerate downloads with 400%?
Theoretically there is no upper limit to the possible speed except your Internet connection (we have measured acceleration even better than 400% in some cases). The actual speed you will achive, however, is depending on many factors, not least the "speed" of the server you are downloading from. The nice thing about Star Downloader is that it uses the available resources in the best way possible. One of the methods for this is splitting the wanted file in several parts and downloading them at the same time and then combining them again. To get even better results we search for alternative servers to download from and choose the fastest ones. Many more of theories like these are also used to give you the fastest downloads possible. |

How can I force Star Downloader to handle a link?
If you hold down the [ALT] and [CTRL] keys when pressing a link Star Downloader will try to download it. Please note that this only works in Internet Explorer. Another way of doing this would be to enable the monitoring of the clipboard in options. Then whenever you copy a link to the clipboard, Star Downloader will try to download it. |

How do I queue downloads?
In the configuration you can set a value for "maximum number of simultaneous downloads". Then just add as many downloads as you like; only the configured number of them will download at the same time, the rest is automatically queued. |
